Happy Canada Day!

Today is Canada day and we are bummed because we missed the fireworks. We thought they were tonight, sigh. Oh well, we’ll know for next year.

Also, I meant to write with my weekend stuff that Bram learned to say Alec this weekend, it’s so cute, it sounds like Atec and he also learned to say hot:-)

Identification

As we identify the fossils and minerals we have found I will list them on my homeschooling blog. We have begun.

Happy Birthday Angela!

my sister,
my best friend;
unconditional love abound
through years of happiness and hardship
sharing joys and sorrows, laughter and tears.

“She knows the things I dream of, the places that I’ve been, she accepts the person I’ve become, she’s a very special friend. She’s always been there for me no matter where I roam, and whenever we’re together, it’s just like being home.” author unknown

Watch Dog

Yesterday gave a whole new meaning to the word watch dog. We were driving into town and I saw a dog laying down on the side of the road. He had his head up looking around. It did look strange though being there as it was a very busy highway. We decided to see if it was still there on the way home. About 15 minutes later we drive back on the highway and see it is still there in the same position. I pull over and Kevin gets out to go check on the dog to make sure it is ok. As he gets closer the dog gets up and goes down over a bank. Kevin looks down and there is another dog digging a hole on the side of the bank. The dog stopped digging and both dogs walked further away. So it appears the first dog was the lookout for the digging dog:-)

The New Me

Tomorrow I am going for a complete hair make over at Genesis Salon and Spa. I am going to get my hair cut, colored, styled, etc. It is a spa so they do major pampering too. My hair is quite long, well past my shoulders. Last week I got fed up and cut about 3 inches off it because of the heat. I tend to keep it in a pony tail all the time. Every year I do this make over and tell myself that this year I will keep it maintained with regular cuts, etc. instead of my usual never go back and let it grow, grow and grow until it is a permanent pony tail. So once again, I pledge to maintain my cut. Well depending on what it looks like tomorrow:-) I haven’t been to this place yet but it seems similar to the one I went to last year in Fredericton. They use Aveda products which I like because they are the closest to professional “natural products”.
