Today I was talking to my neighbor who also homeschools. I really like her, we share a lot of things in common and Alec enjoys playing with their kids. I’m scared though. Today she asked me if I was Catholic and I just said no. I didn’t elaborate. I know it’s ridiculous but I’m scared if she finds out I’m secular she might change how she is towards me. I’m pretty sure she is Catholic and that doesn’t bother me in the least but I don’t know how she will feel. I thought she might have already known we were secular but obviously when she asked if I was Catholic I realized she didn’t. Don’t most christian homeschoolers homeschool to be separate from the secular system? We are unitarian and I don’t if that would even be understood or known about by them. How would you handle it? Am I being ridiculous? It’d be great to get answers from both sides of the fence.
