Trip update
So the trip out to Calgary was a little stressful with trying to carry everything and Bram, transfer flights, etc. but we made it there. In Calgary we were welcomed with snow and freezing cold weather. Some highlights of the trip were a visit to the Royal Tyrell Museum to see the dinosaurs, the Calgary Science Center, swimming, sliding and spending time with my Sister and Nephew. Alec had a difficult time with the trip, it was too much change after everything that had just happened and he became a different kid for the most part. Very emotional, reactive and generally unpleasant:-( As long as he was kept busy and his mind off things he was fine, otherwise he was a wreck. Bram seemed fine overall but often ran around the house saying home, Daddy. I ran/power walked on my sister’s treadmill nearly daily and lost more weight, putting me at a total of 18 lbs and fitting into a lower dress size again!
I am seriously thinking about joining a gym so I can continue this success. I can’t believe how exciting it is to finally lose this weight after all this time and I know I will succeed and keep it off.

Alec’s Birthday
Alec’s birthday is on Dec. 9 but we’re having his party tomorrow. So today, I’ve been busy making a cake, putting up decorations and preparing for his party. It’s a dinosaur theme, big surprise there although I think we are actually coming to a bit of an end of the dinosaur mania if you can believe it.
Kevin took the kids on Friday and is bringing them tomorrow for the party. It was really nice actually having a break from the kids. I went shopping and went to the gym I joined (curves). My sister had a coupon that had a really good discount so I wanted to take advantage of it. I really enjoyed it. I’ve never been crazy about doing the stuff at the gym before because I always found it so boring but the way curves is setup it’s not monotonous at all. It’s a constant switching between machines and you are doing cardio while strength training.
Snowy Party
Alec’s party was fun yesterday despite only half of the kids showing up because of the whopper snow storm that came. We lost power half way through the party and it was off for 5 hours. It was pretty cold by the time it came back on.
I doubt there will be beavers for Alec tonight. I was hoping to go to the gym while he was at beavers but I think I will get my workout shovelling snow today, ugh:-)
