Update

I haven’t been able to post. My server has been under maintenance for the last few days because of the shift at Kevin’s work. No access to ftp or email related to this site or other sites that are maintained on this server. The sites are stored on the server at Kevin’s old job (yes he no longer works there now) and that is why I may lose the whole site any day now. It’s already in the works though to transfer all the files.

I’m doing well. Things are chaotically busy and potentially chaotic;) Kevin will probably be moving to Fredericton shortly for work and that throws a few wrenches in the works with the kids, etc. I didn’t get that contract I was hoping for, however, I have been doing lots of networking and hopefully there will be some potential in the future.

I’ve made some interesting friends online from around the world. I’ll have more to say probably next week when things settle down.

Tidbits

I’m still here. Haven’t switched servers yet. Busy week this week. I’m finishing up a website that I’ve been working on for a while and I have another contract in the works. The kids are doing well. My shoulder is healing. I’m itching to get back to the gym and basketball.

I have an upcoming excursion that I am excited about:) His name is Paul and he lives in Fredericton. I met him last week and he was very nice. Actually, this could get very confusing as I have another new friend Paul in Dartmouth. In fact, I have made lots of really interesting friends. My friend Benn from Australia called me a few days ago and that was a very pleasant surprise. I have made new friends in Dartmouth, Fredericton, St. Stephen, Newmarket, Australia, Saint John and more:) Of course I still have my other friends, Mitch (you know about him already:)), Bob (he’s in Montreal) and Paul (Maine). I think realistically the chances of romantic connections on these online sites are probably quite slim but it is a great way to make friends and I am enjoying it immensely.

On another note, I had entered the Bread and Molasses Miramichi memories contest on a whim. I know it’s not the best piece I have ever written but it did reflect a memory of mine and it won an honourable mention:)

Outdoor Adventures

This year I am going to do more of the things that I have always enjoyed and learn more of the things that I have always wanted to learn. For instance, I love exploring while driving. I like to see where roads take me, dirt roads to the middle of nowhere, finding meadows, rivers and streams. Last summer, the kids and I explored a lot of the area around here finding all kinds of unique places in the wild. Not everyone enjoys doing this, just driving nowhere and seeing where it takes you, especially off the beaten path. I love it and now I can just do it. I also love hiking, camping, biking, boating, etc. I have done all of these intermittantly over the years but this summer I am going to do a lot of it. I found out about a white water canoeing course that is coming up and I plan to take it. I think white water canoeing would be very exciting. There are some amazing rivers and hiking trails in NB that I want to explore. I am going to make friends with people who enjoy doing these activities, already have with Paul from Fredericton, and just live life.

Also, if anyone has some x-country ski boots, 3 prong kind that they want to sell, size 8 1/2, let me know. Mine dissapeared in the last move, no idea where. I miss x-country skiing and they have an amazing trail here in Miramichi.. Hmm, I think my poles might have gone missing too, but I’m still looking for those.

I’m filled with exuberance to get out and do stuff, especially with the sun shining so brightly. I love the spring and the sun has so much power. It makes me feel alive and I want to get out and experience life.

New Adventure

Yesterday I went to Fredericton to go with Fredericton Paul to the Waterwalker Film Festival.. It’s put on by the Canadian Recreational Canoeing Association. I really enjoyed it. Some of the adventures that kayakers and canoers have completed are absolutely amazing and some of them are absolutely crazy. I had noticed last night the van acting a little strange but it wasn’t too bad, then this morning when I was driving home with the kids (who were thankfully being looked after last night by wonderful Nana and Grandad) the van really started to shimmy. I got out and looked at the tires and saw that one of them had a huge “dent” in it. I stopped into a garage and they said that the steel belts had separated and it wasn’t safe to drive on it anymore. So I had to get a “new” used tire put on before I could come home. What a pain in the butt. It seems like everytime I turn around, something else is happening with the van. However, I had a really good time last night, so that offsets it:) I have a lot to get caught up on now though as I was expecting to be home a lot earlier.

Blog Roll

For now my blogroll has been moved to my about me page. I need to make some additions to it and it was just getting too long to keep on the main page.
