The Curse of the Dodge Caravan

So today it was snowing quite heavily, abysmal outside and I had to go to town to run some errands and an appointment. On the way there, driving up hwy 11, the latch for the hood broke and the hood flew up and hit the front window. I couldn’t see anything, couldn’t slam the breaks on because of the roads, so I slowed down and hoped to goodness that I stayed in my lane. I realized after I had slowed down that I was a bit in the other lane based on the cars honking their horns and swerving around me. I pull over into what I think is the side of the road, when I get out I’m half way into my lane. I try to put the hood down but I can see that it looks a bit warped. Finally I get into the side, a man from a nearby house saw what happened and came to help. He tried to put the hood down but the bars that fold down wouldn’t go down. I called Kevin, he said to take the hood off and put it in the back of the van and go to his place and he would try to fix it. We did, I’m sure we had lots of strange looks driving with no hood on. Kevin had to do a temporary macgyverism to attach the hood to the van. So it’s not going to fly up again but I also can’t open it either right now. Kevin will fix it hopefully next week. The van is cursed, always something falling apart on it. Then again, it seems that is the way with all our vehicles because they’re old. Except the van is a 94, I thought it would be a better vehicle than the other ones we’ve had as it is newer but it seems to have just as many problems. It was really scary when that happened today and we’re really lucky no one got hurt.
