Big Plans!!!!!

You aren’t going to believe this! I have met the most amazing guy. He’s from Missouri and he’s not someone I would have normally picked at all. But you know how sometimes those things work out. He’s a biker, you know the leather and all that. But he’s got a great deep soul. Hmm maybe it’s that whole zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance thing going. He’s flying me out to vegas on the weekend with him. I can’t wait, I’ve never been there. His name is Tom but everyone calls him Red because of his long red hair and red beard. He’s been married 4 times already and he’s 44 but now he’s done sowing his wild oats and ready to settle down. Don’t know how we’ll work out all the practical details yet but I’m sure we’ll figure it out.

So, at this point, if you’re gasping in awe or disbelief, you would be right, April Fool’s;) Ah, but it was fun and I was sorely tempted to just leave it there for the day without this addenum and see what happened, lol.

My server is officially moved today. If you sent any email to MANB or simpleessentials, I would not receive it. The emails are set back up. I now need to install MT block thingy for the spam.

We had a great fieldtrip yesterday with the homeschool group. We went with Andrea and Carol and others and saw how maple syrup was made. Very yummy. Kids had a blast.

Doesn’t Bram look adorable:)

weekend

So the kids are going to spend some time with Kevin this weekend and I will have a little bit of time to myself. The house is being shown on Sunday and Monday, so I’ll be doing some decluttering. I’ll get caught up on some of my projects and hopefully have some time to give my bike a tune-up for the season. It would be great to be able to get a chance to go biking sometime this weekend. Easter weekend is coming up and the kids will be with Kevin at Nana and Grandad’s for the whole time. I have to admit, I’m really looking forward to the time to myself that weekend.

Alec is excited today because we learned about a finding in Pennsylvania of a fish limb that showed that some fish in the devonian period used them to swim with or to prop themselves under water on surfaces as well, similar to a salamander. If you ever stop at the Miramichi Salmon Conservation in Doaktown. They have some great fish fossils from the devonian period. We went there last summer.

Andrea thoughtfully took the kids for me today for a couple of hours so I could run errands and get groceries in peace.

Aspects of self

So over the last few months those who have been reading have watched me reflect on the aspects of self that encompass being a mother, wife and woman. For years, the predominate aspects were mother and wife. Over the last several months, the woman aspect has been rediscovered. Now in looking at myself, I see that I need to examine further who that woman is. We all have different aspects of self, that make up who we are. Some parts are more dominant than others. This year I am integrating myself with all my aspects of self, to become a more holistic me. The part of me that enjoys athletics and spending time outdoors. The part of me that has rediscovered my love of writing poetry. The part of me that enjoys intelligent discussion on the meaning of life. The Lisa who enjoys just kicking back with a beer and doing nothing. These parts have been slumbering inside of me for a long time and I feel their reawakening and it engenders a wholeness for me that wasn’t as evident before. So I’m encompassing all those parts with those that are already embodied within me. Not that I was a lifeless twit before either;) But that I feel more fulfilled with my personal growth, and happier.

So on another psychology bend. From Psychology today magazine, a couple of quizes;

I have a friend that tells me I like pop psychology like Lucy from Peanuts. I won’t deny that I do have a proclivity for it but mostly I just like trying to understand people. I find people fascinating subjects, wondering what makes them tick. And I like trying to figure out what makes me tick:)

Poetry

So, I’ve been sharing my poetry with a few friends but now I’m going to take the leap and share it with everyone. I fully recognize that my poetry isn’t something amazing or wonderful but it is a truth for me and an outlet for my creativity and so ultimately, that is the bottom line.
