Thank you

I wanted to thank those who helped out with the van. It looks like things are going ahead, and by Tuesday of next week, I should have my van:)

I wanted to wish good luck to a friend of mine from Saint John that is entering the Fredericton Frigid River Run today (canoe race).

And in the news Bruce Springsteen has started a series of concerts called “Vote for Change” encouraging voters to vote for Kerry. He said; “We’re here to fight for a government that is open, rational, forward-looking and humane.” I missed the debate the other night although I read some of the follow up on it. I think it’s rather evident what I think of Bush, but to be honest, I’m not a big fan of Kerry either. Sigh, politics is so frustrating, there’s rarely anyone of true value, at least in my opinion.

No Surrender - Bruce Springsteen

We busted out of class had to get away from those fools
We learned more from a three minute record than we ever learned in school
Tonight I hear the neighborhood drummer sound
I can feel my heart begin to pound
You say you’re tired and you just want to close your eyes and follow your dreams down

We made a promise we swore we’d always remember
No retreat no surrender
Like soldiers in the winter’s night with a vow to defend
No retreat no surrender

Now young faces grow sad and old and hearts of fire grow cold
We swore blood brothers against the wind
I’m ready to grow young again
And hear your sister’s voice calling us home across the open yards
Well maybe we could cut someplace of our own
With these drums and these guitars

Blood brothers in the stormy night with a vow to defend
No retreat no surrender

Now on the street tonight the lights grow dim
The walls of my room are closing in
There’s a war outside still raging
you say it ain’t ours anymore to win
I want to sleep beneath peaceful skies in my lover’s bed
with a wide open country in my eyes
and these romantic dreams in my head

Ugh

I’m sick. Some virus caught me, fever, achey, chills, sigh. Back to bed. Looks like the conference is a no go:(

Surviving

Well fortunately, I’m going to live. I have to say this flu completely wiped me out. The fever finally broke last night, came off and on throughout the night and day but has been gone since late this afternoon. Now, I’m just dealing with a sore throat, headache and bit of nauseousness. Fortunately, Kevin, his mom and a friend of mine all came together to watch the kids for me as I stayed in bed for virtually 48 hours.

Tomorrow Alec has his first cross country race with the club from the school. We’re all excited about it. I will try and take pictures.

Still working out all the details on the new van, delayed somewhat due to my illness and somewhat due to haggling, etc.

Happy Birthday Kevin! I tell you, I think I’m the best ex out there;)

So much to get caught up on this week. Bram is going to start going to daycare two mornings a week for me to call/visit clients, etc. Part of me is struggling with the decision as my whole purpose was being home with the kids but at the same time, the realistic aspects of being a single mom are looming larger lately. Could be even bigger changes in the future. Will let you know, when I know more.

Hmm, room is spinning a bit, must be that tylenol 3…. nothing like codeine…;)

So you’re not crazy

All those years people had inisisted they had heard or seen the eastern cougar, for those who were told you were nuts when you called natural resources. DNA testing proves cougar is not extinct in Maritimes
