The housewarming party was cozy and fun last night. It was great to see friends and chat about all kinds of interesting topics. I took some photos yesterday of the new place.

And now I want to tell everyone of my “Darwin” moment. On Tuesday morning, the kids and I woke up late. It was hectic and frantic getting ready. I had noticed that my left eye felt blurry. I thought it was sleep in my eye but it was still there after my shower. I didn’t give it a lot of thought as I was too rushed. After the requisite dropping kids off and I’ve parked and I’m walking into work, I notice that my is still blurry and that I’m starting to feel a strong asynchronicity between my eyes. I tell everyone at work about my left blurry eye, they look at my face, not seeing anything. My eye didn’t hurt but it felt so unbalanced. By lunch time, I’m starting to get some eye strain and the blurriness seems worse. So, I walk into a local optometrist clinic and I tell them my story. The woman at the desk stares at my face for a moment and then says, “ummm you’re missing the lens for the left eye of your glasses”. LOL, I just about died of embarassement. I hadn’t noticed and neither had anyone else at work! I quickly remembered how I had picked up my glasses off the floor that morning as they had been knocked off the night side table in the night. The lens must have popped out then. And since I had been so rushed, I didn’t notice it was missing. I don’t touch my glasses or face normally either. And the worst thing was, I had taken my glasses off at one point that morning to see if there was a scratch or dirt on my lens and I hadn’t noticed the lens being missing because there’s a white board with a lot of glare right in front of my desk and when I held my glasses up, the glare made it so that it wasn’t evident. Or at least that’s my excuse for my utter stupidity;) I said to the women at the clinic that I wouldn’t be surprised if I became one of those emails “one day a woman walks into an optometrist clinic complaining of a blurry left eye……” lol
