Chip off the old block
Today after work Alec was complaining of a sore wrist. Apparently he had jumped out of a tree and fallen on it. Kevin had checked it for full range of motion, etc. It did seem to be ok for the most part. I figured it was sprained but I thought I should take him in just in case as I know from experience that I’ve had broken bones and didn’t always know they were broken. I took him to the Oromocto hospital and as the evening went on, his wrist seemed to bother him less. I was positive it was just a sprain. Till the x-rays came back…. yep, broken. A hairline fracture. He’s in a soft cast for 2 weeks and then they’ll check it and see how it is healing. He’s not in a tremendous amount of pain, mostly just uncomfortable. He’s got me beat by 5 years. I didn’t break my first bone until I was 13.
And of course to add to the chaos. The van died again after work. It looks like it’s the alternator that is causing the problem after all.
We just got home from the hospital. I’ve put Alec to bed. Not sure if I’m going to send him to school in the morning or not as he’ll be beat and it’s only a half day. Tomorrow night is the Harlem Globetrotters:) Just as long as Alec doesn’t get any ideas about jumping off picnic tables to slam dunk, lol.
