Canadian Soap Opera

Canadian Politics has really become the rage lately, even for those who don’t normally follow politics. The liberal scandal is bringing out all kinds of “interesting” developments. Belinda Stronich’s defect to the liberal party created a lot of press. Issues related to politics and gender were bandied about. I was actually quite disappointed with CBC radio this morning with their interview of Peter MacKay regarding his thoughts on Stronich leaving the Conservative party. It’s bad enough that he’s been referred to as Stronich’s boyfriend. But CBC really pushed at him trying to uncover the personal aspect, between him and Stronich, of the story. He handled it well stating firmly that he would not discuss personal matters. I didn’t think it appropriate either. He was obviously upset holding up well. We all know I’m not a fan of the conservatives, but I still think people have a right to the dignity and private matters between couples shouldn’t become muddled up with politics. Then the whole confusion with Parish having appendicitis or wait, maybe now it’s a kidney stone, but that she’ll still vote. And more still, Conservative MP Gurmant Grewal alleges that the Liberals offered him and his MP wife posts as ambassadorship or Senate seat if he helped their minority government survive, a claim that the Liberals adamantly denied. It’s our very own political soap opera. All we can do is wait for the results of the vote.

I played ball last night, injury free;) Missed the suns game, read that Nash was amazing on the court.
