If you don’t like fart humour

well then skip today’s post;)

With a return to the blog world, Kevin has tackled some highly intellectual subject matter. While it’s fairly detailed, I felt compelled to make it a bit more comprehensive. Although, I confess that this subject is quite possibly too large to be confined to the blog world. It’s quite simply, the fart; I suggest you read Kevin’s blog first to put my post in context.

His list of fart types needs to also include;
1. bubble fart - similar to the rosebud/repeater fart he mentions, but these are not wet, but rather, quiet buds of air that bubble their way to the surface.

2. the toot - milder version of the trumpet, an aspiring wanna be trumpet

3. the sex fart - need I say more here, take it how you want;)

4. the dud - also not a true fart but you feel one building and you’re so sure you’re going to let one rip and nothing happens.

And of course a whole other sub-category based on smells. I’ll only touch on the most common;
1. rotten egg
2. poopy diaper smell

Finally there are types of people who fart;
1. those who think their farts smell like roses
2. those who are patriotic farters, proud of it, as loud and as smelly as they can make it
3. those who have convinced themselves that they don’t really fart
4. those of us who know we fart and find ourselves trying to follow fart etiquette

That’s my contribution to the fart dialogue. I’m sure that I am also missing some critical points as well, but I’ll leave it to others to pick up where I left off.

I watched Sideways last night. I’m not sure why it is being billed as a comedy as it wasn’t funny at all. I wasn’t blown away by the movie and it plodded on at times but it did have a message that was valuable and a lot of subcontext to the plot.

Prattling

Jo mentioned that she has been having a lot of migraines lately. I wonder if there’s a weather phenomena happening as I’ve been fighting them too. Today I woke up with a migraine that has been slowly building for days. I was up late last night watching the Suns/Spurs game with a friend and practically fell asleep before it was over. Although it was close for about 30 sec. towards the end, the Suns quickly fell behind again, losing their momentum.

I also injured myself again at bball last night (the usual). Then this evening when I was opening a drawer in Alec’s dresser, the shoulder subluxated again. So I know it’s time to let it heal really well again, take a couple of weeks off, sigh.

This sat. we’re taking the kids to the Irving Nature Park. I think they’ll really enjoy it. I heard there is a spot where you can observe seals through a viewfinder. Let’s hope the weather holds up for the weekend. I also need to mow the hayfield in my backyard. I haven’t found a second hand lawn mower to buy yet and it hasn’t been done yet and it’s really, really, bad. Soon I won’t be able to find the sandbox, lol.

Crap, I have a love/hate thing with blacklist. It gets rid of my spam comments but it also deletes some real comments too, sorry Andrea:(

fun in the sun

Well Sat. morning we loaded up the van with food and our bikes and away we went to spend the day at the Irving Nature Park. Bram was very excited about going there as you can tell from the look of glee on his face;)
.

However after arrival, once mounted on bikes, the kids were excited to start their foray into the woods.

We decided to stop and explore one of the beaches and Bram found the container of grapes in the backpack. He literally devoured a huge amount of them and I cringed as I watched him eat them as I knew that the future side effect might be unpleasant. I recollected the time that Kevin called me and said “did Bram eat grapes recently?” (he had eaten a huge amount of them that day). Apparently his diaper was loaded to the gills with them and that’s when we discovered that his body doesn’t process a large volume of grapes well. But he loves them and can’t get enough of them.

Alec in the meantime was busy exploring the beach and had found some red velvet mites on the rocks, shells, neat rocks and lots of seaweed.

.

Now, I love my kids obviously and I like to think I’ve got good looking kids. But we all know that there are photos that capture us in a less flattering way. When I took this picture, I knew it was going to be “interesting” and I was definitely assured of that when I looked at it later. Somebody help me out with this. I know there’s an older actor that can pull his bottom lip over his top lip and this picture reminded me so much of him. Anyone know who I mean?

.
My budding absent minded professor (no idea where he got that from, lol).

In the woods on the trails. I stopped to give the kids a little lesson on lichen and glacier paths.

.

However those were far and few between as the pace was set by Bram at a rather brisk pace.

.

We did a lot of hiking, biking and exploring, wearing all of us out. But we had a great day and the kids had a lot of fun.

Phone call from Bush, G.

Today when I arrived home from work, I looked at the list of numbers that had called my number. There was a “Bush, G.” I was a little startled when I first saw it. My first thought was, “George Bush called me, oh my god, he’s going to sue me for defamation of character” lol. The light was blinking. With trepidation, I retrieved my messages and heard a woman talking about rats. I thought ok, not far off;) But then I remembered I had emailed someone a few weeks ago about acquiring some pet rats. So, George didn’t call me today, just some rats;)

Come What May

It was a wonderful weekend. I spent it doing some webwork and finally mowing my lawn. Sat. morning we hit the market for our usual samosas. Then we went for a bike ride. The trails here in F’ton are great for biking. I also watched Moulin Rouge. I’ve heard that you either love or hate this movie. I absolutely loved it. Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman had excellent onscreen chemistry and the love between them was believable and highly moving. Yet the movie also had some very interesting and amusing ways of handling the comic relief with a bit of nostalgia with the music score. I think they could turn this into a broadway musical and it would do well. Their song “Come What May” will make you weep.

Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman - Come What May

Never knew I could feel like this
Like I’ve never seen the sky before
I want to vanish inside your kiss
Every day i’m loving you more than this
Listen to my heart, can you hear it sings
Telling me to give you everything
Seasons may change, winter to spring
But I love you until the end of time

Come what may
Come what may
I will love you until my dying day

Suddenly the world seems such a perfect place
Suddenly it moves with such a perfect grace
Suddenly my life doesn’t seem such a waste
It all revolves around you
And there’s no mountain too high
No river too wide
Sing out this song I’ll be there by your side
Storm clouds may gather
And stars may collide
But I love you until the end of time

Oh, come what may, come what may
I will love you, I will love you
Suddenly the world seems such a perfect place
