fun in the sun
Well Sat. morning we loaded up the van with food and our bikes and away we went to spend the day at the Irving Nature Park. Bram was very excited about going there as you can tell from the look of glee on his face;)
.
However after arrival, once mounted on bikes, the kids were excited to start their foray into the woods.
We decided to stop and explore one of the beaches and Bram found the container of grapes in the backpack. He literally devoured a huge amount of them and I cringed as I watched him eat them as I knew that the future side effect might be unpleasant. I recollected the time that Kevin called me and said “did Bram eat grapes recently?” (he had eaten a huge amount of them that day). Apparently his diaper was loaded to the gills with them and that’s when we discovered that his body doesn’t process a large volume of grapes well. But he loves them and can’t get enough of them.
Alec in the meantime was busy exploring the beach and had found some red velvet mites on the rocks, shells, neat rocks and lots of seaweed.
.
Now, I love my kids obviously and I like to think I’ve got good looking kids. But we all know that there are photos that capture us in a less flattering way. When I took this picture, I knew it was going to be “interesting” and I was definitely assured of that when I looked at it later. Somebody help me out with this. I know there’s an older actor that can pull his bottom lip over his top lip and this picture reminded me so much of him. Anyone know who I mean?
.
My budding absent minded professor (no idea where he got that from, lol).
In the woods on the trails. I stopped to give the kids a little lesson on lichen and glacier paths.
.
However those were far and few between as the pace was set by Bram at a rather brisk pace.
.
We did a lot of hiking, biking and exploring, wearing all of us out. But we had a great day and the kids had a lot of fun.
