I need drugs

or something to help me sleep;) Things have been really crazy the last couple of weeks with work. I’ve been working most nights till 1 or 2 am, then getting up at 6:30-7:00 to get the kids off to their respective places and then I’m back to work. But my system is getting all messed up because last night, I was all excited about going to bed at 12:30 am (yeah I know, pathetic, lol) and what did I DO?!?!? I laid in bed for almost 2 freakin’ hours AWAKE and not able to sleep. After the first hour, I thought this is crazy, so I grabbed my laptop and decided to catch up on some blogs. AnotherĀ 30 minutes later, I look at the clock and see it is 2:00 am. I think, what the hell am I doing? Close up the laptop, try again. This time I manage to crash easily but morning comes too soon and I’m half dead, so I plan to get to bed by 11 tonight and by god, I better be able to fall asleep or one of these days I’ll be doing a blog post and I’ll likely fall asleep half way through it. Although for that matter, some of my posts sort of resemble that as it is, lol.

    Well I crashed, decided to have a nap this afternoon at 2:30, hoping I could grab an hour. After about 20 minutes, the phone rings, the CSR for some software we bought recently was calling from the US. So I dealt with that, I lay back down, 15 minutes later, another call from a Sales Rep for software we were thinking about buying. I’m a dork, I didn’t have to answer the phone, I could have just let it go to the answering machine, but noooooo I’m one of those people that hate to let a ringing phone ring, sigh. So I gave up, and I’m more than happy to be a sucker if I can get some sleep tonight;) And I even cancelled a date tonight, if that’s any indication of just how tired I am, lol.

    I’m the exact opposite, I would would let that phone ring ’til the cows come home. I think that says a whole lot about me, doesn’t it?

    We miss you Lisa. Get your sleep. I’ve been meaning to write a blog about some of your writings and sara g’s but man that darn CBC is keeping me too busy. Why do they have to keep dangling stuff so enticing? I really want to only blog the election but what do you do? I can’t resist. LOL.

    Hi Lisa, Welcome to My-dietblog. You don’t need drugs, you need sleep. Anything less than 6 hours is not good for the mind let alone the body. Getting enough sleep plays a big part in losing weight, something to do with chemicals. I am tired out just reading your agenda. Maybe after the adjustment of school starting things will run smoother for you. I use relaxation tapes at night if I need help in falling asleep quickly. It is hard to get the metabloism to slow down all of a sudden. Good luck with everything on your plate. Bless you.

    Hi Thinkoffthefat, thanks for dropping by:) Yeah I knew sleep made a difference with weight loss and I’ve noticed that it’s been much harder to lose it over the last year (and in fact I gained some) with working a lot more. This schedule is likely to continue for another couple of months (new business start up) but yeah I know I can’t do this long term. And the drugs thing was partly tongue in cheek, I don’t like to use drugs for things unless I have to. I’ll check out your blog:)

    Oh and I should mention, I feel MUCH better this morning, although I went to bed at 10:30 and fell asleep at midnight, but I feel a million times better:)
