Drupal

Our new business is using drupal as a our framework for our website. It’s going to be considerably hacked and customized, but it is using a drupal foundation. CMS (content management systems) are both wonderful and semi-frustrating to work with, but overall I think they’re making life a lot easier and flexible for website creation. Having dynamic content created so easily and being able to have your clients do their own updates/editing is a huge bonus. I think if I do any more web design for clients, many of them will be CMS based.

Anyone reading this used drupal?

Oh, and if anyone knows how to have youtube videos embedded in the posts like I saw at Dean’s World. I confess to attempting a couple of plugins from WP, and nothing seems to be working, they all remove the html code, something to do with tinymce I think.

weird

I’m sure I’ll figure it out when I have a chance to check it later, but I noticed that if someone finds my blog from an external link or search, that it uses the basketball theme. Even though I currently have the executive mom theme as default. oohh wait I see, those that come in to http://simpleessentials.net/blog see the exec theme, those that use http://www.simpleessentials.net/blog see the bball theme. Ok, should be able to fix that later.

Crap, that’s not working either, oh well, will have to wait for later, have a meeting.

internet explorer

I just discovered that the search bar in the top right doesn’t work in i.e. It works fine in firefox. I can’t seem to figure out why. I know it’s got to be a css type thing but maybe it’s some sort of bug someone already knows about?

Testing out My Virtual Model’s beta program for use in blogs
